The Minnesota Channel Chooses ProLink

NORTHAMPTON, MA - February 1, 2008 - Myers Information Systems, Inc. has been selected to develop a program schedule and related metadata distribution platform for The Minnesota Channel.  The Minnesota Channel originates from Twin Cities Public Television and is currently carried at five independent public media stations across Minnesota.  Future plans include rolling-in public media stations in the states of Wisconsin and North Dakota.

The Minnesota Channel features a variety of programming that is from or about Minnesota and its close neighbors. Many of the programs are produced by Twin Cities Public Television in partnership with Minnesota's nonprofit and public service organizations. Participating public television stations include:

    • KSMQ, Austin, MN
    • Lakeland Public Television, Bemidji, MN
    • WDSE PBS Eight, Duluth, MN
    • Pioneer Public Television, Appleton, MN
    • Twin Cities Public Television, St. Paul, MN

Our exclusive ProLink Service is the mechanism that enables Twin Cities Public Television to distribute The Minnesota Channel's program schedule and metadata to participating stations. Daily ProLink updates are sent via the Internet and allow stations to select the "offers" and "series" they wish to download. Selections are menu-driven which provides a simple and efficient method for quickly loading program data, including monthly program listings, up to ten weeks in advance.
