Myers Information Systems, Inc. delivers PBS WORLD
NORTHAMPTON, MA and BOSTON, MA - August 15, 2007 - WGBH has selected Myers Information Systems, Inc. to provide the program metadata and schedule delivery mechanism for the newly released PBS WORLD package channel. PBS WORLD features documentary, public affairs and news programming from public television's award-winning signature series and acclaimed independent filmmakers. Subscribing stations are able to infuse local content and brand with local identity, continuing the recognition that public television is one of the last places where local programming can be found
PBS WORLD program and schedule information is now available for download via our exclusive ProLink service - joining the recently added V-me and Create public television packaged channel services. ProLink's proven delivery mechanism provides the structure needed to electronically transfer volumes of packaged channel data in a format that can easily be ingested by all public television stations.
"The ongoing expansion of ProLink demonstrates the confidence the industry has in our company, products, services and unwavering commitment to move public broadcasting forward," says Crist Myers, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Myers Information Systems, Inc. "This is a big endorsement and we are excited to continue to play an important role in enabling PBS and their programming partners to provide local stations more of the non-fiction programming that their audiences want."
Produced and distributed by PBS, WGBH Boston and Thirteen/WNET, in association with American Public Television (APT) and the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA), PBS World launched on August 15, 2007 on 55 stations, representing 24 licensees, across the country, reaching more than 27% of U.S. households. In most markets, PBS WORLD programming will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Major markets signed on for the launch of PBS World include New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington D.C., Cleveland, Tampa, Jacksonville and Milwaukee.
